Student of the Month: Gabby Le Blang

February 2023

What made you choose Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University?

LCOOU is a TCU and really recognizes and respects Native American culture. You feel welcomed by the indigenous focused environment. Culture is in everything LCOOU does from the programming to the curriculum.

What has helped you become the student you are today?

Self-reflection on life and what I want to do; discovering ‘what my purpose is’. I put a lot of thought in before even entering college. My goals are set and help me push through the hardships I’ve previously faced in academia.

How will your education help you accomplish your occupational goals?

I’m still trying to figure things out occupationally, but a very broad goal of mine is to help further the revitalization of the Ojibwe language.
