Financial Aid

The following information will help students and families discover and become familiar with the financial aid opportunities that are available at Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University. The basic sources of financial aid at LCOOU are grants, scholarships, and student employment.

The Financial Aid Office also assists students in exploring other financial resources to help achieve their educational goals. We understand how overwhelming financial aid can be, so please call or stop by our office if you have any questions or need more information.

  • Welcome to Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University. Transitioning from the military to campus life can be challenging. We are here to ensure your transition to campus is a smooth one. One of the challenges you face as a veteran is paying for your college education. If you plan on using either state or federal veterans education benefits to pay for school, we advise you to follow the steps below and schedule a meeting with us at FinancialAid@lco.edu

The university does NOT evaluate your service record to determine your benefits eligibility; that is the role of a VA. However, if you have a question regarding education benefits please do not hesitate to contact us at FinancialAid@lco.edu

Eligible service members should speak with their Educational Service Officer (ESO) or counselor within the Military Service prior to applying and being enrolled at LCOOU. This is to ensure that service members understand their eligibility for TA and their potential financial State Education Benefits responsibility toward LCOOU.

Step 1: Research your benefits Federal Education Benefits

If applying for the WI GI Bill for the first time, complete the appropriate forms in the WDVA B0105.

If the WI GI Bill has been used before, complete only the WDVA 2029 found in the WDVA B0105.

Step 4: Submit proper documentation to the Financial Aid Department

Once you have received approval for veteran education benefits, you simply need to bring the following documentation to the Financial Aid Department for verification. The university will then notify the VA of your status as an enrolled student.
