Remembrance Garden

Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College Sustainable Agriculture Research Station will be creating a Remembrance Garden this coming year to honor loved ones and community members who have passed away. The garden will include flowers, native plants, and flowering shrubs and will hopefully include some pathways and art installations as it grows and as we get more community involvement. If you would like to honor and remember a loved one, elder, or anyone who has been lost in our communities please fill out the form below or see the contact info at the bottom of the post. Anyone is allowed to be honored here regardless of tribal status or affiliation.

Sign-up form: https://forms.gle/N2wWnj7dkhXx5mmi8

When you sign-up, your loved one will be honored in our Remembrance Gardens at Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College Sustainable Agriculture Research Station located at 13457W Froemel Rd.  Hayward, WI 54843. Your loved one's name will be added to the list of those who are being honored for 2021-2022 which will be on display at the entrance to our garden. We will also have an annual gathering and feast to honor and remember those who have been added to our garden each year and anyone is allowed to attend.

We will  be seeking volunteer participation as this project continues, please feel free to reach out at the contact info provided below if you would like to volunteer time to plant or maintain the garden, create a piece of art for our garden, or if you have any other comments or ideas. Those wishing to honor a loved one will also have the opportunity to volunteer to help maintain our Remembrance Gardens if they wish.

Please contact Laura with any questions, ideas, or comments: lmerchant@lco.edu or 715-645-0122
