Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College Capital Campaign Successful
Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College (LCOOC) kicked off its first capital campaign on Monday, July 13, 2020, with a goal of raising $250,000 over two years. The LCOOC met the initial capital campaign goal in 2021 in just over a year, launching a new extended goal of $350,000 at that time. The College officially reached the new extended Scholarship Capital Campaign goal, raising $352,973.96 earlier this month.
Initial investments from the Gay I. & Harry C. Leslie III Fund and The Eck Family Foundation laid the foundation for a strong first capital campaign. This campaign, supporting student scholarships, created an opportunity to increase the number and amount of scholarships offered by the College to Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College students, awarding more than $100,000 over the course of the 2021/2022 academic year.
“Student scholarships are a vital component of how the College supports student success,” states Dr. Russell Swagger, President of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College. “Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College will continue to enhance students’ abilities to focus on their education and to release concerns of their financial situations.”
