Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College Approved to Offer Master’s in Management and in Human Services

Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College (LCOOC) has recently been approved by the Higher Learning Commission to offer two new Master’s programs in Business Management and in Human Services. Both will be the first graduate level programs being offered at Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College starting in the Fall of 2022. The Institutional Actions Council (AIC) of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) provided confirmation of this action through a letter dated July 14, 2022.

As previously stated, “The degrees are being offered in response to overwhelming community requests, identified needs of tribal community leadership, and as an important goal of our strategic plan. Our role as a college is to offer programs and services that help our Ojibwe tribes meet their goals.” According to President Russell Swagger these programs will be helpful in meeting tribal community needs in economic development and social services.

Limited pilot courses in both programs were offered in the Fall and Spring of the 2021-2022 academic year. The College would like to thank the students who successfully completed the pilot courses and had confidence in Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College.

The course offerings will be available to enroll starting the Fall 2022 Semester.
