“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish the Constitution for the United States of America.”

What is Constitution Day?

Constitution Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is observed today because on this day in 1787, the United States Constitution was signed at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

Why is it important to me?

The constitution forms the basic structure for government, governs the power, and sets goals for the country. Amongst everything else, the constitution gives you the right to let your voice be heard. It is formed to make people get what they deserve and save us from any miss-treatment.

What can I do moving forward?

You can exercise your right to vote and have your voice heard in upcoming elections. Keep an eye out for upcoming elections in your county and state. Spring Election starts Tuesday, April 5, 2022. You’ll want to register to vote & find your polling place: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/
